ABOUT
16F
16F Squadron was formed in September 1938 and Alderman A.J. Blue, Mayor of Wood Green, initiator and Committee Chairman, was appointed Commanding Officer in November. The Squadron then boasted 8 officers, 2 Warrant Officers, 3 Sergeant Instructors and 70 cadets.
In the autumn of 1940, the Squadron had the good fortune to be granted the lease of its previous site in Alexandra Park, complete with wooden huts and with ample space for parades and drill. By 1941 the strength had risen to 150.
Since then, the Squadron has relocated to the Army Reserve Centre on Priory Road. Today we participate in a wide variety of air & military themed activities.
